Research Associate

Luke is a Research Associate at the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk (CSER) and Darwin College at the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on the deep history and future of catastrophic risks, particularly climate change. He has advised the Australian Parliament on ratifying the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change and has a decade of experience in international environmental negotiations. Luke holds a PhD in political science and human geography from the Australian National University. He is currently writing a book on societal collapse and transformation which will be published with Penguin (Viking Books) in 2023.
